Acceptance of these terms

By using CalculatorByState — the free calculators, the articles, or any paid guide, template, or All-Access membership — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What this site is, and isn't

Every calculator, article, guide, and template on this site is general information, illustrative only, and not financial, legal, or tax advice — see /methodology for how the figures behind them are sourced. Nothing here is a loan offer, a pre-approval, or a substitute for a licensed lender, attorney, or tax professional. This site does not route your information to lenders, insurers, or any other third party for marketing purposes.

Accounts

Some features — saving a calculation, saving a guide, buying a guide or template, subscribing to All-Access, and the Deal Workspace — require a free account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity under your account. Free calculators and articles never require an account.

Purchases, billing, and cancellation

Guides and templates are one-time purchases; once bought, they're yours to keep and re-download. All-Access is a recurring subscription billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your account's billing portal — your subscription stays active through the end of the period you already paid for, and won't renew after that.

Because guides and templates are digital goods delivered instantly on purchase, all sales are final except where a file is genuinely defective or doesn't match its description — contact us and we'll make it right. Subscription payments already collected for a billing period aren't refunded for partial/unused time.

Using what you buy

A purchased guide or template is for your own personal or household use. You may not resell, redistribute, or publicly share the file itself, or the specific text/worksheet content it contains, without our permission. You're welcome to use the numbers you calculate and the decisions you make with them however you like — that's the whole point.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a scale that degrades service for other users, circumvent a paywall or entitlement check, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.

No warranty, limitation of liability

The site and everything on it are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Every dollar figure is an estimate, sourced and dated where possible, but real rates, taxes, fees, and program terms change — always confirm anything that matters against your own Loan Estimate, a licensed professional, or the original source. To the fullest extent the law allows, CalculatorByState isn't liable for any decision made based on a number this site produced.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CalculatorByState operates.
